Advertising may be the scourge of television, but on my tablet or e-reader, I'm fine with it. Be respectful, keep it civil and stay on topic. We delete comments that violate our policy , which we encourage you to read. Discussion threads can be closed at any time at our discretion. Why I'm choosing the Kindle with Special Offers Gripe all you want about Amazon's decision to incorporate advertising, but for me it's a simple question of dollars and sense.
Rick Broida. OK, deal! But I kind of like these ads. They are related ads as Amazon advertised. Discounts on popular music or coupons for some of the daily items we use. It will also try to record your interest and customize advertisements based on your pattern of behaviors. You may even subscribe or unsubscribe from special offers if you prefer. Amazon offer Kindle with special offers at discounted price for delivering the sponsored ads.
So, my suggestion is save some money and opt for the Kindle Paperwhite with special offers Read Review. Little things like that make big differences to me. This morning, I nicely asked an Amazon customer service rep if she could remove the special offers from my Paperwhite for no charge, and she did it!!
I contacted the support via the Amazon site and said I want to remove the Ads from my Kindle Paperwhite. I have run into the kind of problem I hate.
When I go to Amazon and select action beside my Kindle, there is no option to edit special offers. Every help page says to go there to turn this off but of course mine does not show this option. The action tab has nothing to do with it. The option to unsubscribe is under the device on the device section. What happens if the reader is not connected to WiFi? Does the damn thing have a rotating repetoire of ads it shows until it can update? Will the ads be blank if not connected?
The his has forced me to download books elsewhere.
